The tax-exempt amount for the minimum wage is decreasing, but the gross cap is increasing

Starting July 1, the tax-exempt portion of the minimum wage will decrease to 200 lei, reducing real take-home pay, but the gross income threshold for eligibility for the tax break will increase to 4,600 lei.

The values of culture, meal, and childcare vouchers have been officially changed.

The ordinance transposes a number of provisions adopted at European level, so the changes aim to share childcare responsibilities fairly between men and women.

Law 241/2023 was published in the Official Gazette on 21 July 2023, which aims to grant 4 days per month of home/telework for the care of children up to the age of 11.
