The implementation procedure for the grants for the HoReCa companies was published in the Official Gazette, so they will soon be able to start registrations. State aid is intended to cover part of the financial losses suffered by the companies due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It is about the order of the Ministry of economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism No. 991/2021 that has already been published and is in force. It contains the procedure for implementing the grants to HoReCa, State aid introduced by the OUG No 224/2020. Even if the legal framework is complete, authorities must announce the period of registration so that companies can ask for the money.
Companies that will access grants prepared by the government for tourism and the public food sector will have to keep their assets, depending on the amounts received from the state, up to 12 months under the new law, although initially the period could be up to 24 months. Those who fail to do so will be forced to pay back the whole of the grants they have received.
In fact, those who will get up to 200 000 euros, the equivalent in lei, will have to keep their activity for at least 6 months. Those who will cash over 200 000 euros, the equivalent in lei, will have to keep their activity for at least 12 months.
