A psychological agreement means expectations, promises, trust, involvement, obligations. Because I represent a new comer on the market, JordanSheppard Executive Search, I will try to analyze the honoring of the psychological agreement from the point of view of the company I represent, but also from the point of view of the Romanian conditions.
What made me decide to accept this challenge on a market where there are still so many things to accomplish with people, through people and for people? Anticipation, the insight into the real needs of the market and the belief that I can honor the expectations of professionalism, vision and foreign experience benefic to an emergent market, promising in terms of size, potential and dynamics. What I expect from this market is openness, objective validation and loyalty, promising in turn involvement in its very real HR needs, so decisive when we talk about key people in organizations that form the markets and move the business world.
On a rather crowded executive search market, I am coming with the faith in personalization, comprehension, efficiency and talent. These all mean assuming obligations of a psychological contract. What will happen if the Romanian market will not honor its promises? We will have to recreate it, reinvent it and reshape it. Because, as happens in psychology, there is an inherent logic of cause and effect and there is an economic law of offer and demand. Everything that demand represents today reflects the creativity and sophistication with which offer managed to reinvent itself yesterday.
I did not set a deadline in my psychological contract with Romania. I consider it an everlasting agreement, valid for yesterday’s market as it is for today’s and tomorrow’s, valid for local as well as foreign brands, for production and services, with the same basic terms and the same unforgiving and interesting conditions.
