Ascent Group – partner of the project Start Internship

Ascent Group supports this year, as partner, the START Internship program, developed in Romania by Junior Achievement.

In today’s labor market, students are hardly dreaming of a career and graduates have already entered into the race for getting a job. But their success depends very much on the practical skills and knowledge they learned. And unfortunately Universities in Romania offers still too few opportunities for students to get in contact with what is happening in the concrete business.

Ascent Group supports this year, as partner, the START Internship program, developed in Romania by Junior Achievement.

In today’s labor market, students are hardly dreaming of a career and graduates have already entered into the race for getting a job. But their success depends very much on the practical skills and knowledge they learned. And unfortunately Universities in Romania offers still too few opportunities for students to get in contact with what is happening in the concrete business.

START Internship is an educational partnership initiated by a broad group of business associations, embassies, multinational companies and supported by the Romanian Government, universities and student associations aimed mainly to supplement the shortcomings of the education system and to facilitate the preparation of young as future employees. START Internship Romania gives students the opportunity to gain experience working in a company, but not to neglect studies through participation in an internship during the summer holiday (July-September). The internships are helping young people to explore career opportunities on the job market and to develop an extensive set of transferable skills.

Ascent Group, has already experienced several years of supporting practice student programs or internships, both organized internally or in collaboration with student organizations or NGOs. An example is the collaboration with Junior Achievement for the program START Internship and the cooperation with AIESEC Romania in the Exchange Program, programs through which more students from Romania and abroad are involved during this summer in internships in the Ascent Group offices in Romania, in Bucharest and Arad.
